Why are our products so cheap?

We had a fantastic post from @TinkerbellJayne on twitter, who said.

A question for my blog. I really like your products but can’t work out why they are so cheap, can you shed some light?

Thank you for getting in touch Tink, here is what we have to say on the matter!

At Derma V10 our philosophy is allow people to “love themselves for less”. To us this means offering high quality products, at reasonable prices.

So what we try to do is work FOR YOU the customer, without trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

We feel most of the big brands get away with so much, purely by selling an ideal. The massive price tags on the brands, are not so high because they are using ingredients that cost a lot of money; They are so high because they pay celebrities and models to endorse/advertise these products, have huge expensive offices in London and Paris and then slap a massive margin on for themselves, their shareholders, and the retailers for good measure. It is all seems a little greedy to us, and we hope you agree.

Realistically a branded product you are paying £10 for, is on average, costing a tenth of that to make including ingredients, packaging and transport.

If you look at the ingredient list on most products, they rarely vary in the first 2 or 3 ingredients.

More often than not, the first ingredient is AQUA, quite simply this is de-ionised water. But what most people do not know is that these ingredients are in % order, with the largest percentage first, so in most products the biggest main ingredient is: you guessed it, Water.

This is why we are able to provide our products at honest prices, because the big secret is, the ingredients don’t actually cost that much!

We price our products at what you guys should be paying, unlike the brands who price it at what they think they can get you to pay.

So that is our promise to all our fans, we will be transparent, we will be honest, and we will help you “love yourself for less”.

We will be doing more posts around this issue, and start giving some clarity to the beauty industry, so come back soon.

Lots of Love.
